Influential, alert and informed regarding the negotiations in EU – Expertise and consultation in European policies

Period of implementation: 1st of August 2014 – 1st of August 2015

The “Influential, alert and informed regarding the negotiations in EU – expertise and consultation in European policies” project, aims to develop the capacity of the Romanian Center of European Policies (RCEP) and of its NGO partners to react to the European challenges, to debate along with the official and associative environments the best positioning of Romania and to propose smart solutions in four thematic areas of public policies.

The project responds to a deficit of expertise and consultation with which Romania is dealing, a country which has yet to recover in order to benefit of its EU member status. The project aims for four major policy areas for Romania where vital decisions will be taken at the EU level in the near future: (a) Justice and Anti-corruption policies, (b) Home Affairs and Schengen’s governance reform (c) Energy policies and (d) Economic Governance.

CRPE will strengthen its team of employees and affiliated experts and will develop standard procedures for in house research, publication and dissemination for all these four areas. Within the project there will be a mechanism created for forecasting developments at European level, along with representatives of the Romanian Government officials and members of the European Parliament. Each theme will be developed by organizing a consultation with the NGOs that are interested in the topic, thus creating coalitions and coherent consultation between the officials and the associative environment.
