Even if the Communist party has won alone most of the votes and mandates (48), the four opposition parties have taken together the majority of seats in the newly established Moldovan Parliament. Thereby, they hold enough votes to elect the President of the Parliament, but not enough votes to choose a new state President, in this case they would need a number of 61 votes.
