The Romanian Centre for European Policies launched the volume “The EU Approach to Justice Reform in Southeastern and Eastern Europe” during a public hearing organized at the European Parliament with the contribution of MEPs Monica Macovei (Romania), Mariya Nedelcheva (Bulgaria) and Tadeusz Zwiefka (Polonia).
This study explains clearly the main lines of action sought by the legislative package, such as increasing the independence of transport operators, increasing nondiscriminatory access by consumers and electric and natural gas retailers, increasing the independence of regulators, and adequately defining what constitutes a vulnerable consumer in order to avoid social distortions in the energy markets.
In this report we finalize the independent monitoring of the responsible Romanian institutions for the technical operation regarding to accession. The report focuses on the progress or stagnation (if any) in last period of 2010, from September until today.
The report presents some arguments supporting the exceptional case of Moldova within the Eastern Partnership. If the EU is willing to confirm its commitment concerning the Eastern dimension of the ENP and its availability to make the Eastern Partnership a substantial policy, it wouldn't found a better occasion to encourage the currently adopted direction of Moldova. It is a common agreement among the experts, that the Eastern Partnership lacks a clear perspective and a successful story.
