Europe on Its Own – Leaders for a Strong and Prepared European Union, Constanța, June 13–15, 2025, was the theme of the 27th edition of the European Academy of Young Political Leaders – dedicated to future generations of politicians and public decision-makers, who benefited from expertise and dialogue on current topics related to EU strategies in the face of global challenges and the responsibilities Romania must assume in these contexts.
The European Academy of Young Political Leaders is a unique, cross-party leadership program dedicated to new generations of politicians (under 35), organized for 13 years by the Romanian Center for European Policies (CRPE) with the support of OMV Petrom, the Foreign Investors Council, and, this year, the Representation of the European Commission in Romania.
Speakers and participants explored:

The EU’s strategic responses to new crises: from common defense and the ReArm Europe – Readiness 2030 Plan to strengthening European resilience and the Preparedness Strategy.

National and European responses, strategies, and resources for countering disinformation.

Internal and external risks for Romania: from economic instability and major security risks in the Black Sea region to polarization and society’s resilience against disinformation.

The business perspective and the role of private investment in Romania’s development.

Scenarios and necessary measures for fiscal adjustment and reducing the budget deficit, including the implications of different policies.

The short (and medium) term needs for preparing young leaders to understand and influence European decisions with a direct impact at the national level.
The program continues to provide a space for learning, reflection, and dialogue for 35 young politicians at each edition, promoting European values and fostering a better understanding of the implications of EU decisions.
