Digital awareness for all: Empowering inclusive participation

CRPE is happy to launch a new initiative, EmpowerDIGI: Digital awareness for all, running from May 15 to November 15, 2025, with support from the European Citizen Action Service (ECAS). The project is designed to make Romania’s digital transition more inclusive, responsive, and accountable. By bringing together public authorities and civil society organizations, EmpowerDIGI will monitor how Romania’s Digital Decade 2030 commitments are being delivered, while spotlighting good practices and real needs at the local level.

Closing the digital gap

With EmpowerDIGI, we’re turning the spotlight on the people and places often left behind in Romania’s digital push, especially vulnerable groups and communities that struggle with access or basic digital skills. At the same time, we’re teaming up with the public authorities, both local and national, who shape and deliver digital services every day. We’ll map out real-life initiatives that help citizens navigate the digital world and highlight what’s working well so others can learn and replicate it. The goal? Better cooperation, smarter policies, and making sure everyone has a seat at the digital table.

Keeping an eye on Romania’s digital promises

We’re also keeping tabs on how Romania is moving forward with its Digital Decade 2030 roadmap, not just in general, but specifically through the lens of inclusion. How inclusive and actionable is the roadmap? Are vulnerable communities being considered? Are public efforts actually closing the digital skills gap? Through reports and online events, we’ll break down progress in a way that’s easy to follow and push for stronger, fairer action where it’s needed most.
